Polyurethane, Vulkollan and other technical plastics

We make polyurethane, Vulkollan® and other technical plastic components wherever conventional materials wear out too quickly. Polyurethane parts offer excellent abrasion resistance, high load capacity and elasticity that absorbs shocks and noise.

Parts are cast in moulds or machined from semi-finished stock. By turning and milling we produce rollers, pulleys, sliders, stops, guide strips, seals and wipers – single spare parts as well as repeat series to drawing.

Cast polyurethane and machining

Cast polyurethane combines the elasticity of rubber with the mechanical strength of plastic. Vulkollan® is a premium polyurethane elastomer with outstanding dynamic performance and low heat build-up – ideal for heavily loaded wheels.

Polyurethane instead of metal or rubber

Replacing metal or rubber parts with polyurethane often extends their service life significantly. Polyurethane does not corrode, is lighter than metal, dampens noise and vibration and protects the mating parts – rails, shafts and conveyed material. Compared with standard rubber it resists abrasion, cutting and permanent set much better.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between polyurethane and Vulkollan®?

Vulkollan® is a premium polyurethane elastomer with higher dynamic resistance and lower heat build-up. We recommend it for heavily loaded running wheels and parts in continuous operation; standard cast polyurethane is sufficient for less demanding applications.

Can you replace a metal part with polyurethane?

In many cases yes – for example pulleys, guides, buffers or linings. Polyurethane reduces noise, weight and wear of the mating part. We assess suitability based on the drawing and operating conditions.

Have a drawing or a sample?

Send us an inquiry with a drawing, sample or description of the part. We will get back to you with a solution, a recommended material and a price.
